As I mentioned in my last post, I recently traveled to Montréal and Toronto. A few places I visited stand out in my mind as exceptional. Here are my favorite food memories bookmarked.

Montréal

Kafein café-bar is a cute and cozy spot on Rue Bishop. Students frequent the upstairs coffee shop (pictured), an atmosphere suitable for a study session or catching up with a friend. The quiet hum of a podcast plays over the speakers. Charmed by the sweet barista, and the delicious savory basil scone I devoured. Apparently downstairs, you can purchase cocktails. Kind of perfect.

La Panthère Verte or The Green Panther is a dreamboat. If you are vegan, vegetarian, eco-friendly, love food, or love an instagramable aesthetic – this is your place. So. much. choice. I had the vegan shawarma, with broccoli soup and a ginger and apple cider juice. The shawarma had fake pulled meat. My mouth is watering at the thought.

On the way out I grabbed a vegan brownie. Rich and delicious. For the vegans who have trouble getting their sweets fix, this will do the job.

And they have no waste. They don’t even have a garbage can. That is commitment.

Toronto

Lake Inez is a feast for the eyes, soul, and most definitely mouth. I didn’t get a photo of my food, but you don’t need that to know it was one of the most delicious dishes I have ever had the pleasure of consuming.

I tried the Roasted Squash Salad, and Rice w/ Mushrooms. They sound somewhat ordinary, but let me assure you, they were anything but. The house made pumpkin seed pesto and thai dressing on the salad, and the pickled shallots and slow cooked egg on the mushroom rice, made both dishes very unique and distinct. Oh, and incredible.

Homegrown Juice is another vegan/eco-friendly piece of heaven. I didn’t get a photo of my food again… but I tried the Red Green juice, the avocado smoothie, and the peanut butter energy ball. All equally delicious. The thing with this place is they use non-frozen, 100% organic produce in all of their juices or smoothies. It looks like a plant shop inside (pictured below). Next time I visit Toronto, I want to try one of their smoothie bowls. They are located on Pape, near the Danforth. Highly recommend.

That is all for my food favorites… But here. Have this.
